HubiFi adopts Mint CI/CD for its FinTech software

Published on

The engineering team at HubiFi has migrated from GitHub Actions to Mint for its CI/CD pipelines.

“We’re thoroughly impressed with Mint’s innovative capabilities for CI/CD. We use a wide variety of technologies for building our data-intensive financial software platform, and we’ve been able to seamlessly leverage Mint across all of our projects. Ubiquity is tremendously important to us since our stack is built 100% on the cloud leveraging a variety of different tools and languages. Mint is able to be a common engineering productivity platform across all of our different systems providing superior performance at a superior price point compared to Github Actions and other CI/CD frameworks.. Our engineering team is more productive with Mint’s fast builds, rich telemetry, and elegant developer experience. Additionally, with Mint being SOC 2 Type 2 compliant and providing hardened vault features, our CD pipelines have industry-leading security.”

How HubiFi uses Mint

HubiFi uses Mint leaves to configure ruby, DBT, .NET, and terraform. Postgres runs via docker as a background process.

Mint's content-based caching frequently produces cache hits when the source code files relevant to the task haven’t changed. Additionally, HubiFi uses the tool cache so that incremental executions of package manager tools start with a warm cache and execute quickly.

Test results and linter errors are configured as semantic outputs, enabling engineers to more quickly interpret build failures.

Embedded runs are used for a multi-stage CD pipeline which executes nightly, kicked off via a cron schedule in Mint. The multi-stage embedded runs ensure deployments are successful to nightly and staging build environments before deploying to production.

Deployment keys are configured securely in Mint vaults, with access restricted to protected code branches which require approval.
