## Build software without waiting on legacy CI

- **Validate changes immediately.** Run the same build locally or from an agent before committing and pushing.
- **Give agents reproducible sandboxes.** Agent environments share the configuration, cache, and runtime used by CI.
- **Build deployable artifacts.** Every task produces an OCI image that can be inspected, reused, or published.

## A better runtime for every build

Every task runs on its own right-sized VM and snapshots its filesystem. Downstream tasks start from any combination of upstream filesystem layers.

### Automatic content-based caching

RWX calculates cache keys from a task's inputs and upstream filesystem layers. When RWX has seen the same inputs before, it restores the same output filesystem layer.

### Parallelism without redundant work

Run independent tasks in parallel or split a test suite over many shards without reinstalling code or dependencies in each VM.

### Right-sized compute per task

Each task can select its own VM specifications, so lightweight work does not need the same resources as compilation or large test suites.

### Retry and debug individual steps

Replay one failed step instead of rebuilding everything. Add a breakpoint and connect directly to the middle of a build when a failure needs investigation.
